Solutions by project type
Piping solutions for the way the project is built
Homes, institutions, industry, farms and drainage networks each ask something different of a pipe. These are the Wasser systems that fit each setting.

Residential plumbing
Hot and cold water inside homes and apartments, with drainage stacks that stay quiet in occupied rooms.
- PP-R
- PP-R Composite
- SWR Grey

Commercial and institutional projects
Offices, hospitals, hotels and schools, where drainage noise, pressure class and hygiene all have to be specified.
- PVC-U Acoustic
- PP-R Composite
- SWR White

Industrial and infrastructure projects
Municipal mains and industrial transfer lines, where fused joints remove leak points and abrasion resistance matters.
- HDPE
- PVC-U Pressure
- PP-R UV Composite

Farms and irrigation
Long runs across open ground, supplied in coils of up to 100 metres so there are fewer joints to make and maintain.
- HDPE
- PP-R UV Protected

Drainage and wastewater systems
Soil, waste and rainwater above and below ground, with a colour specified for each installation position.
- SWR Golden Brown
- SWR Grey
- SWR White

Why choose Wasser Pipes
Reasons that come with a specification attached
Each point below is drawn from the Wasser Pipes catalogue, and names the pipes it actually applies to.
A pipe for each job, not one pipe for everything
Eleven systems across PP-R, HDPE and PVC-U, with the catalogue assigning drainage colours to specific installation positions — golden brown underground, grey above ground, white for both.

Corrosion and chemical resistance
PVC-U pressure pipes are immune to chemical, electrolytic and galvanic action. PP-R pipes resist corrosion and aggressive environments, and offer excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, oils and domestic effluents.
PVC-U Pressure · PP-R
Smooth internal surfaces for efficient flow
PP-R pipes have a slippery, bright internal surface so sediments and impurities are not observed. SWR and acoustic drainage pipes have a mirror smooth, restriction-free bore that keeps the system free from clogging and drain choke-up.
PP-R · PVC-U drainage
UV-protected options for outdoor runs
PP-R UV Protected and PP-R UV Composite pipes carry a UV protected layer of UV resistant materials, which protects the pipe from flaking when exposed to sunlight over time.
PP-R UV Protected · PP-R UV Composite
Thermal-insulated pipe where heat loss matters
The PP-R Thermal Insulated pipe is built with an insulating middle layer to attain better thermal resistivity than standard PP-R pipes, for hot and cold water.
PP-R Thermal Insulated
Acoustic drainage that measurably reduces noise
The PVC-U Acoustic pipe uses a middle hollow grid layer in the 110 mm and 160 mm sizes to reduce noise levels by more than 6 dB, while internal vanes reduce vortex and direct the flow.
PVC-U Acoustic
Pressure-rated water supply
HDPE and PVC-U pressure pipes are produced in PN6 to PN20. PP-R Composite and UV Composite pipes are rated to 25 bar, and the catalogue publishes how those pressures reduce as temperature rises.

The company behind the brand
Astral Industries Limited
Astral Industries Limited (AIL), a subsidiary of Trident Group of Companies, was established in 2004 and incorporated in 2006. AIL identified a gap in the market for high quality plastic and steel tanks, therefore starting its initial operations by manufacturing plastic and steel tanks and eventually moving to other markets.
Astral Industries Limited has a client base country-wide which includes hospitals, institutions, commercial offices, government parastatals, residential areas and farms.

Frequently asked questions
Questions we are asked about Wasser Pipes
Short, factual answers taken from the catalogue. If your question is about a specific project, send it through the enquiry form and the team will answer directly.
Ask about your projectWasser Pipes covers three piping families. PP-R includes the plain standard range, UV Protected, Composite, UV Composite and Thermal Insulated pipes. PVC-U includes S.W.R. drainage pipes, Pressure pipes and Acoustic pipes. HDPE pipes are produced for water and gas from 20 mm to 110 mm.
PP-R is polypropylene random copolymer, used for hot and cold water inside buildings. HDPE is high-density polyethylene, joined by heat fusion into leak-free joints and supplied in long lengths for water and gas mains. PVC-U is unplasticised PVC, used for pressurised cold water supply and for soil, waste and rainwater drainage.
The PP-R range. Standard PP-R pipes can be used in cold and hot water facilities. PP-R Composite pipes are suitable for hot and cold water transfers in buildings as well as under-floor and central heating. PP-R Thermal Insulated pipes are made to attain better insulation than normal PP-R for hot and cold water.
PP-R UV Protected and PP-R UV Composite pipes. Both carry a UV protected layer comprised of UV resistant materials, which protects the pipe from flaking when exposed to sunlight over time. The UV Composite pipe adds a composite layer that gives rigidity with memory so runs can be laid straighter.
The PVC-U S.W.R. range, which stands for Soil, Waste and Rainwater. It is supplied in golden brown, grey and white, in 6 metre lengths. The PVC-U Acoustic pipe is also a drainage pipe, designed to reduce the noise that drainage makes inside a building.
The colour indicates where the pipe is installed. Golden brown drainage pipes are used in underground waste and rainwater systems. Grey pipes are used in above ground waste and rainwater systems. White pipes are used in both above ground and underground systems, and cannot be manufactured from recycled PVC.
The PVC-U Acoustic pipe. It is a multilayer pipe with outer and inner layers of conventional PVC and a middle hollow grid layer in the 110 mm and 160 mm sizes. That hollow layer gives an acoustic effect and reduces noise levels by more than 6 dB, while internal vanes reduce vortex and direct the flow.
Start from the application, then the temperature and pressure the line will actually see. The catalogue publishes maximum operating pressures that fall as temperature rises, along with outside diameter, inside diameter and wall thickness for each size. Final pipe sizing and pressure selection should be confirmed by a qualified plumber or engineer.
Yes. Astral Industries Limited has a client base country-wide which includes hospitals, institutions, commercial offices, government parastatals, residential areas and farms. The range spans in-building plumbing in PP-R, drainage in PVC-U, and pressure mains in HDPE and PVC-U.
